I LOVE when people meet me and I tell them I’m pretty fluid with my gender and they don’t automatically just use she/her. it makes me feel seen as who I am and not as what I’m perceived as. makes me feel actually cared for. I especially love when they switch it up occasionally, like today they say they and the next they say he…ect. God I love it all!!

My therapist, who is in her late 20s and is therefore no more than five years older than me, said “good girl” to me during our session yesterday, because I am better able to manage my anxiety. I had no idea how to react, and instead of that causing me anxiety and confusion, I just laugh about how unexpected that was. My girlfriend also got a kick out of it lol. So silly. Life is so unpredictable and awesome in that way.

My stylist outdid himself this time with my hair color it’s really fun and creative and so vivid… darker auburn at the roots, rich violet red on the lengths and the ends look like licks of flame. So it was nice to see that it made an impression on somebody the first time I went out after washing it. Superficial as a response to this ask but appreciated! (It’s unfortunate that the emoji library on here isn’t updated 🐦‍🔥) Actually also number two a colleague I regularly work with called me brilliant in a big meeting he was leading in front of some of our executive leadership. In my head I was like You really think so?? 🥹

This years pride will be a bit more difficult compared to the last couple years but HAPPY PRIDE! Celebrate with the people you love and the people that care for you. this year especially we need to stick together as a community with the rise of homophobia and especially the rise of transphobia. a special reminder that our community is built off the work of the black trans community and the black trans women that have fought for all of our rights. respect one another as that is all we can do right now. happy pride and be safe! <3
