reading magazines anywhere really. but within the confines of a plane, my add riddled brain somehow finds a way to read a new yorker, or something i picked up that day, cover to cover even on longer trips. combine that with the anticipation of going somewhere fun, and you have a dopamine bomb pretty much for me.

It gives you a sense of what’s going on, and helps put your mind in the physical place as opposed to the cursed online swamp. And I like reading the internationals. I don’t know if it‘s because I’m in a different headspace when “abroad” or just have more time, but it’s become part of my “ritual” when travelling.

Beginner mode: reading on the train, reading in the waiting room, reading at the laundromat, reading before bed advanced: reading on the stationary bike, reading while walking home, reading at the bar, reading under the table during zoom meetings, excusing yourself to read during a party Where else are we reading?

I don’t believe in ranking things- restaurants, albums, books, movies, athletes anything, top x lists whatever. I think it’s a waste of time honestly. Even with a completely objective criterion what’s the point. Would rather listen to and read people just talk about their favorite things and why they are special and meaningful to them- everyone has their own, interesting reasons. And this is a great place to do that!
