Iāve been talking to my therapist a lot and finding a lot of healing in reminding myself that Iām growing into someone that little me wouldāve thought was really coolāespecially when it feels hard to like myself
Listening to the same music, loving the same movies, loving to read, changing up my look, loving clothes, loving animals. A lot of these things made me feel weird or nerdy at the time now feel so core to myself. Iām just baby me in a bigger body, we all are āļø

I used to be afraid of not having a personality, always ācopyingā the tastes of the people I love. But now Iām proud.
My comfort show is one that I once watched with one of my best friends, my music taste is kinda the same as my other best friend bc I listen to the playlists she makes (damn shes good), my bf makes me love everything he talks about with passion, I love watching movies with all of my friends.
Almost everything I love reminds me of someone, and I know they think about me when theyāre doing something I showed them. It just makes me so happy. However sometimes it makes me kinda sad because it reminds me of people who arenāt in my life anymore, but Iām happy to carry all of them with me always. <3
Of course I have my own taste sometimes, but since I donāt try to be āuniqueā my life is better.

The things I love about myself constantly change cause I can just suddenly hate what I used to love about myself, physically or internally. However, one stays constant, I love being able to just connect with anyone. Some people say I'm being fake to some ppl but genuinely, I can kinda just vibe with anyone. I may not like them, and they'll probably know that but I can still kinda vibe

When I was 14 I definitely started listening to metal/extreme music and watching horror/extreme cinema to impress ppl I liked (30 year olds on WoW - we can unpack that later), however I think that as long as you take a minute to be reflective and think like do I like this for me or do I like this for someone else, it's OK to be niche (and it is absolutely funny to be like, oh yes I'm a purveyor of fine japanese dungeon synth when ppl ask what you're into). Consider niche interests the result of exploration of oneself!

I lost my sweet old man dog in February and I will never miss an opportunity to talk about him. Im so thankful for the people in my life who donāt feel like they have to tip toe about asking about Jack and how Iām doing, itās worse to pretend like Iām not grieving and dance around it. He existed and I love sharing about him
