The hawk flew right in front of me yesterday on a walk and we stared at each other for two minutes straight and the crow appeared outside my kitchen window this morning

yesterday’s air, cut, with focused pace, a Hawk landed, watching, eyes a trace. with peer of amber, a calmed plea, its piercing sight fixed right on me. the world made hums, the branches swayed, but still it stared, as if it weighed, my every thought, my every fear, a soundless voice I couldn’t hear. then this morn, Crow, outside my sill, it seemed a fate with forceful will. its look, my way, hearkened with lore, a knowing one I did implore. with cunning and soul that pieces veils, omen of change on journeyed trails, it beckoned my heart, to rise and unfold, a guide through much dark, to wisdom I hold. what messages laid in their hazes, what truths were twined in their mazes. did they visit my life, to judge, or wait, for me to learn, to grow, to contemplate?

@TATERHOLE no worries! I’m going through a fair few changes in my life right now, so this rec hit with me. Lots of animal messengers I’d love to be able to actually talk to. Like, are the birds squawking at me? what do you guys *know*, and can you…maybe…give me some pointers?? Or are you just watching this meat sack fumble around with curiosity

My grandfather had just died and upon my return from the hospital there were a pair of ducks on the roof of my house. Waterfowl being fairly averse to rooftops for whatever reason this peculiarity caught my eye. I think it signified some sort of spiritual cosmic reunion with my grandmother.

I went through an intense period of growth and change a few years ago and first it was hawks and owls everywhere showing me I was on my path and then we graduated to eagles at the pinnacle of it all, and now I see them occasionally to remind me I'm still doing pretty good, but I don't need them all the time anymore. they show up to give you heart šŸ’“

@IMKHUSHI okay so lunar eclipse starting thursday night into Friday in Virgo. So it depends on which house you have Virgo in and if theres planets there and stuff but basically: The eclipse night is for being extremely emotional and letting the weight of the change and the loss involved in that sit heavy on you, and letting it go. Make sure you’re actually seriously done and grieve that. Don’t worry too much about details And logistics just be so over dramatic. THEN after that eclipse until the next one, get your Virgo shit going. I.e. work for the goals in a regimented and objective way. Woohooo

This is a solid belief of mine. these last few months, I’ve had owls filter in and out of my life in strange ways. It started a few months ago when my cousin told me she had a nightmare with an owl in it. A different friend, a month or two later, sent me a video of a barn owl she saw on a walk. two weeks ago, I saw an owl in person for the first time. I was on a walk with my dog, and it flapped by out of nowhere. i didn’t have my phone on me, and i didn’t plan on going in this specific direction on my walk. We stared at each other. Once I started going WHOOO WHOOO, the link broke and we went our separate ways. a few days later, was telling a friend about this synchronicity of owlz during a stoner walk near a creek. It was dark, and I decided to dip my toes in the water (as I am a mermaid for any body of water) as I was watching my step among the slick coldness of the water and the invisible pebbles in the dark, my friend let out a soft scream- gasp. above me, an owl had flown by. she said it ’had been too fat to have been anything else’ and i fully believe her. Owls are interesting. They aren’t my primary bird of hyperfixation (big on eagles and crows in my universe) but I feel deeply connected to the universe and its movements, whenever these sorts of repetitions enter my life. I always read into it. I don’t care, I love making something’s out of someone else’s nothings.

It’s spring so its likely you may be receiving more visits from birds. good to know what these visits are trying to communicate to you! I just saw a pair of blue jays which may mean I need to speak up about something šŸ¤”

My dad teases me about how when I was a little kid, my favorite thing to do when I was on the landline phone with somebody—be it a relative or one of my best friends—was to breathlessly describe the things that were in my bedroom so that they could have a mental picture of everything I loved and chose to surround myself with, and where I sat at that moment in time. Perfectly Imperfect reminds me of that so thanks for always listening and for sharing with me too šŸ’Œ

I’ve been thinking about how much of social media is centered around curating our self-image. When selfies first became popular, they were dismissed as vain and vapid—a critique often rooted in misogyny—but now, the way we craft our online selves feels more like creating monuments. We try to signal our individuality, hoping to be seen and understood, but ironically, I think this widens the gap between how others perceive us and who we really are. Instead of fostering connection, it can invite projection and misinterpretation—preconceived notions, prefab labels, and stereotypes. Worse, individuality has become branded and commodified, reducing our identities to products for others to consume. On most platforms, validation often comes from how well you can curate and present your image—selfies, aesthetic branding, and lifestyle content tend to dominate. High engagement is tied to visibility, not necessarily depth or substance. But I think spaces like PI.FYI show that there’s another way: where connection is built on shared ideas, tastes, and interests rather than surface-level content. It’s refreshing to be part of a community that values thoughts over optics. By sharing so few images of myself, I’ve found that it gives others room to focus on my ideas and voice. When I do share an image, it feels intentional—something that contributes to the story I want to tell rather than defining it. Sharing less allows me to express who I am beyond appearance. For women, especially, sharing less can be a radical act in a world where the default is to objectify ourselves. It resists the pressure to center appearance, focusing instead on what truly matters: our thoughts, voices, and authenticity. I’ve posted a handful of pictures of myself in 2,500 posts because I care more about showing who I am than how I look. In trying to be seen, are we making it harder for others to truly know us? It’s a question worth considering.
