skating

every since i got my first real skateboard at a santa cruz demo in columbus ohio at dodge skatepark i was hooked. not only endless trips and adventures with friends learning how to navigate life and live how you want. such a cool thing to learn that inadvertently teaches you perseverance and encourages independence. it’s something that’s hard to get if you never loved it, and i don’t think i’ll ever stop loving it.

skate 2 for xbox 360 (electronic arts, 2009)

i brought my xbox to america just so i could play this every night before bed. i grew up in asia where this was my only in to skateboarding culture... omg. i memorized every skater's name and sponsors within a week and skate culture became the first american thing i embraced fully which later informed all my other tastes. wonderful mechanics and realistic skateboarrding feel too. amazing take on vancouver/sanfrancisco landscapes -  i can go on forever, can you tell?

started two years ago and it took over my life.
depending on the city you are in you meet so many people
helps me connect to music in a care free way
have also started traveling to skate festivals around the world though tbh nothing ever beats skating in your home city if you meet the right people

my new charm

while doing my impression of troy in high school musical 2 dancing to bet on it i danced a little too hard and broke my friendship bracelet 😔 however i found some beads from it and made this wonderful charm… im going to prob go back home and make a more robust one but i think this one’s a cute proof of concept
