He’s a musician who plays recreations/interpretations of old, *old* music, including those of dead civilisations and languages (Sumerian, Babylonian, Ancient Egyptian, Ancient Greek) based on studies of those most prominent in the fields of each respective civilisations’ history, culture, language.
The man plays authentic replicas of ancient instruments too, as close as is possible to what we know of those time periods, or have unearthed so far (I highly rec reading the descriptions of every video for more info!)
Of course, we’ll never really know how these songs or poems were sung and spoken, or their exact translations, the true sounds and words others heard years and years ago. But, there's something grounding about the throughline of the human condition, our emotions and experiences across centuries, *millennia*. The storytelling, the longing, love, eroticism, poetry, grief, humour. Beautiful stuff y’know
