I've never actually watched a Star Trek show, but I started this on a whim. It's perfect. Cute, campy, optimistic, and really shows the indomitable power of the human spirit. Obviously there are a few cringy episodes that haven't aged well, but overall shockingly progressive and very sweet. The best part is that it presents a world where ethics and technology work hand in hand. Sounds crazy I know.

star trek has always been progressive since it started in the 60's! sometimes it can be a simplistic idealized version of the future where we all work together and travel the stars yay🩷 but theres many episodes that really dig into social issues and philosophical topics - especially in deep space nine. tng will always be my favorite trek and it's always so nice to see people discover and enjoy it :-)

ok so i've started watching star trek ds9...and it's wonderful. only one season deep and i feel like it's such an antidote to the craziness of modern times. It presents intense moral dilemmas in the most relaxed way? sesame street/pbs/60 minutes vibes and i HIGHLY RECOMMEND this show is so calm and sweet and i'm already looking forward to dressing as jadzia dax for halloween yay

Mirror, Mirror is one of the best Star Trek episodes if not only for the glitter infused costuming they had the entire crew in. Imagine being a gay nerd in the 60‘s and seeing the glamour.

The return of "How The Beverly Hillbillies Changed Everything"

The original version got taken down before I could actually finish it lmao, I was actually properly invested in it. Really liked the hour-long, incredibly in depth interlude about the history of the original USS Enterprise model that finishes with the sentence "but I never really liked Star Trek, so I'm not that interested in all that"
