Really love this whole album that came out earlier this year. It's filled with these amazing blends of rock and hip-hop beats that ends up with a very novel sound. This song is one of the chiller parts of the album but the whole thing is fantastic if you ask me. The themes of the album are pretty heavy on despair / hopelessness at times but it's a feeling you can sit with and process.

every time i hear this album i just find it to be so ahead of its time. i feel like nowadays you hear a good handful of folks trying to achieve this sort of sound (perhaps dehd or the memories), but dude was doing it in 2004, and doing it WELL (and sounded much more depressed while doing so). top tracks: jake - keep it together better off dead alright little bit more intro

I don't know if this is a call for help, but I've been exclusively listening to one album for almost two months now. This masterpiece dropped in March, and I've clocked in about 300 listens, but who's counting? We are. Bonus rec, the boys and I have linked our Spotify accounts to last.fm to keep track of every song we listen to.Giveon has such a unique, well rounded, really deep voice. This is one of those albums where every song hits for me. Never thought I'd say this, but I think he may have even knocked Daniel Caesar off of my R&B artist throne.

Hyper modern production, with a lofi vocal approach. The dude is singing out of tune like 90 percent of the time…. But that’s what makes this work. It’s not the note that’s working here, it’s his nakedness and rawness in each track that grabs u by the guts and pulls u in. The standout track for me is “Alone”. What a wonderfully creative musician ☺️. i wanna give him a hug or something.

Koudelka was a photographer who documented Europe from the 60s onwards, recording the lives of travelling people, Soviet invasions, struggles with poverty, and more. He later became a member of the Magnum society and continued his work into old age. If you have the time, it's really worth digging into his work as he had a real eye for striking images that provide a lot of context for the situation he was in. He used to travel with very little besides a sleeping bag and camera so he often experienced the harsher side of life while on the job. At times his photos were smuggled out of the soviet borders, and published anonymously, to keep him safe. Check the link for a good starting point on Magnum's website!

I'm not obsessed with it but it's always sweet when the barista does something cool. This one yesterday made me smile because after seeing a few others I realised the guy was doing Pokémon! Fairly certain mine is mew or Mewtwo, I saw him do a horsea, pikachu, and squirtle too...
