Buying disposable cameras

Just started to buy one per race I’m running. It’s a nice way to get into film without having to buy a film camera. It is also way less risky; I don’t like bringing my nice film camera out on a run or hike, these are disposable and (almost) indestructible. There’s also so much delayed gratification in knowing you have no idea what the photos will look like until they develop. It’s a fun little surprise.

I WOULDN’T BOTHER GETTING A HOME PRINTER

Any affordable home printer is going to break and probably not be that great at printing anyway. (Maybe someone will contradict me here) Instead, I’ve used the Shutterfly app where you can get 4x4 and 4x6 prints for “free” - the shipping isn’t free. I’m sure there are others like it, and I bet Costco has something, too. Just for fun, a Fuji Mini Link prints photos on mini instant film (like a Polaroid). There’s the cost of instant film $0.60-$1 probably), but I enjoy having them.

Don‘t Feed the ai

Not to beat a dead horse but google has now foisted integration of it‘s Gemini AI into basic gmail / drive functionality. Don’t offload your critical faculties to a super computer. Write that email. Use your brain. Every time you feed this thing it will get “better” and you are training it to replace you.
