I’ve been doing this on my 1.5 mile morning walks to work and it has made me a lot more present. So fun to see what you start to notice when you bring a camera and less iPhone time = 😇✅🆒 The smaller & cheaper the camera the better

Winter walks and the camera in your pocket

I like taking photos. Big, serious landscape photos with big, serious landscape cameras, film or digital. Lately, though, I’ve been rediscovering the joy of just taking a photo of what’s in front of me, with the camera I have on me - my phone. It takes a little effort to make sure you don’t look at anything else on there (and spoil the walk), but it’s also a refreshing way to get back to what carrying a small film camera was meant to be - the joy of making an image without thinking about it too much.

light, shadows, textures, things accidentally making a pretty composition, everyday has so much art just waiting to be noticed. now my camera roll is a reminder of the beauty i see in the world

Draw from life WHENEVER possible

I bring a sketchbook wherever I go, especially when I know I’ll be going to places with art or interesting architecture. If you’re not an “artist” or have little experience in physical mediums I think it’s still a great mental exercise and cannot recommend it enough! Every skill is learned! Here’s a sketch from today based off of Mattia Preti‘s “Saint Paul the Hermit”

Men i trust - forever live sessions vol i & ii

Men I Trust is one of those bands where I’ll drop any plans to see them perform live. Seeing and hearing them evolve as performers is such a great sight (and sound) to behold! They just recently released Vol II of their live sessions and there’s absolutely no skips!! Sounds just as good as their usual studio recordings with a bit more character fun and charm :)
