I'm slowly becoming a HUGE fan of the Coen brothers. The wild characterization, dialogue beats, and constant sense of unpredictability make this an easy rec IF you're into character-driven comedy where none of the characters are particularly LIKEABLE, per se.

It's also the Coens but a very different vibe from No Country for Old Men. Basically a bunch of awful but still charming characters who don't know anything but are all trying to get something from someone else. Clooney and McDormand are excellent as usual but Brad Pitt is on another level, definitely the performance he should be remembered for.

i hadn't seen this movie in over 10 years and loved it on this rewatch. it gets a bad rap for being like a "film bro" movie but it's so much more than that.
bret easton ellis rules and this adaptation has to be one of the best ever
