I feel like too many people confuse sad and soul crushing. This movie isn’t sad all the way through and that’s why it‘s even more soul crushing.

The wind that shakes the barley (2006)
This is a movie I wouldn’t have chose to watch for myself, but a friend recommended it and it has become one of my favorites. It is absolutely heartbreaking.
