I found a slug, real sleek and glossy,
his tentacles stretch, so criss-crossy!
is he patient, resolute, can I ask,
does time for him in stillness bask?
is movement a pulse, a quiet beat,
the ground below, his world complete.
our clocks tick fast, his pace is slow,
a rhythm we should learn to know.
