if you ask me for a play to cite, it’ll probably be this one.
there is a special place in my heart for this play.
it is able to articulate the exact feeling of resentment as well as joy for a loved one getting out of a hard situation when you are still going through it.
its romantic, in its own definitive way - and lives with you days, months, and even years after reading.
i would give anything to see the pbs special of viola davis and rosie perez performing this
