got these shoes at a thrift store for like $5. i haven't owned keens since i was a kid and refused to wear them then cause i thought they were so ugly. now i still think they're ugly but delightfully so and they're mad comfy. big on clothes that make me feel like i could go camping in a moment's notice.

It’s definitely not a (typical?) running sneaker but Hear me out !
I was looking for a new shoe, not a heel or fun thrifty thing, but smth I could wear all the time apart from my docs. I have old running sneakers and have used them for a few yrs now (they’re fine and good.. no issues) whenever I go on runs
But I found out about Keen through Viv Chen’s substack - she recommended these for just having a good trusty and cool looking sneaker that are also used for Hiking! So I was like. Yeah I do walk a lot and I like the look of a cool sneaker let’s do it.
and then I started wearing them to soccer, just wanted to see how they’d feel/if they were comfortable on the pitch etc. and 1. They were totally fine, felt like I was wearing running shoes and 2. I got many many compliments! I honestly can’t wear these anywhere without getting at least one compliment on them. They’re a hit!! And now I’ve been going on runs with them and they feel great. So I highly suggest investing in a pair o these😌🫧🙏🏼. Theres lots of colorway options too - I got these cuz I like writing with a purple pen so.. purple laces it is!

they’re like normal shoes but they’re small and cute as hell. look at them. they fit in the palm of my hand…
whenever i look at them i think “hah those shoes are smaller than they should be”
also they represent something so temporary but joyous. like those shoes probably fit me for a grand total of 3 months but damn did i look good for those 3 months… worth it
i found 3 pairs of my old shoes and hung them on my wall. ngl my lil ass was drippy as hell. look at these sneaks???

this idea of "you don't owe anyone anything" came about through the social media therapists that try to diagnose complete strangers with a multitude of issues and complexes. all it has done has made selfish people more selfish and divided us as a community.
you do not owe everyone everything, but if you consider yourself part of a community, a society, you do owe everyone something. at a base level you owe people kindness, respect (as long as they haven't lost the right to it), and basic human decency. you owe your loved ones even more.
stop being selfish and rude in the name of treating your so-called "people pleasing."
