this album (by racing mount pleasant) is by far onea the best collections of music i’ve ever heard. it has some amazing winds (sax & trumpet primarily) and incredibly haunting vocals. perfect for rainy weather and late nights. each song has emotional and complex lyrics; my favorites are do you think i’m pretty & grip your fist.

i already posted about this on my music-centric public finsta/meme insta account (@valleygirl5678 as well if ya wanna follow 😛) but wow this album might be one of my faves of the year. after a first listen of a new album i usually dont feel the urge to listen again until at least the next day because i usually need time to let the first listen sort of settle in before going back to it. but this album... like i immediately had the urge to listen again i craved it (a feeling i have honestly not had with a new album since maybe magdalena bay's 'imaginal disk' from last year???) but ya listen to this album u will not regret it!!! such an easy listen but also quite experimental for a rock album which is great its the perfect combo 🤍

🌄i love waking up before everyone else, making a real nice & simple breakfast, and sitting at the table. i keep the lights off, except for one lamp in the living room. it gives off this lovely warm light. feels so peaceful. this paired with a good album. highly recommend.

🧡about to make guacamole with my dad.
we visited his dad today.
instead of learning how to make chip dips, his dad taught him how to throw a ball.
it was weird; hearing my dad tell the lady at the counter, “i’m looking for my dad’s room.”
sometimes i forget he was a kid once, too.
my grandfather ended the visit by holding my dad’s hand and saying, “you wouldn’t believe how much i love you!”
both of them were trying to be strong, but i saw their eyes gloss over.
i made the guac, by the way. my dad was very patient with me & my questions about avocados. i think its because he misses when his dad could be patient with him. instead he’s a patient at the hospital who can very well believe how much he loves his son.
