we understand the world within and through our bodies. seeing all art and writing through that lens, seeing the way people talk through that lens.

still thinking about this. it makes me think: it’s amazing how long you can go in this exceedingly yang-dominant, output-focused, matter-obsessed society as a body whose only purpose is dragging your brain from room to room. but the truth is, this intellectualization or Cartesian tendency to separate brain and body (and rank the body second) protects us and blocks us from a more primordial truth that our nature, our bodies implicitly know.

I am by no means traditionally religious, but I fully understand how being in the presence of beautiful stained glass can feel like being with god. ALWAYS stop off at a church on the way if you think it might have good stained glass. The bluebells in the bottom right corner of this made me loose my breath for a moment.
