Not an official song, but Sonic Youth put a different type of energy into this song every time they perform it

This is a five-minute version of a twenty-minute masterpiece and a great entryway to the band. My grandfather sold them flowers a few times (they used to live in the same town as him) and he described Kim Gordon as a lovely person

Listen, this ain’t a hot take, and I’m pretty behind on this tune- but as far as song-titles that start with “I wanna” go… this is currently in the 12th inning overtime with I Wanna Be Your Dog by The Stooges. Seriously, the only thing I dont like about this song is that it ends. The Roses could go in and out of jams for 20 minutes using Ian Brown’s chant as a refrain and I‘d be listening to it all day. It’s crazy. the music just comes at you like an airborne toxic event and overtakes you. The magic of the mix, I guess. I still don’t think that their self titled is deserving of the best british album of all time. Madchester was a cute moment though. Whatever this is, need more now.

Kinda forgot about these guys since my Rock Band days when I used to perform vocals on I Think I'm Paranoid at the ripe age of 12 years old with my sibs. This song recently came on my radar and I'm really vibing with it, I especially love the opening.

Magnolia Electric Co. - Jason Molina & Songs: Ohia This is one of my favorite albums of all time. It was produced by Steve Albini (R.I.P) and was at the height of Jason Molina's career. A few songs legitimately floor me every time I hear them. Farewell Transmission is at the very top of that list. Everything about it hits me viscerally, from the gorgeous lyrics ("Mama here comes midnight with the dead moon in its jaws"), to that goddamn perfect ending cutting out at just the right moment. "Listen!" The rest of the album carries on from there, sprawling farther and farther with each song after the opener, and god if Hold On Magnolia isn't a hell of a bookend. The sheer pathos and emotion of this album is incredible. But fuck me if Farewell Transmission isn't just one of the greatest songs of all time. Anywho, definitely give it a listen!
