I can’t always count on my hands to work anymore but today my fingers can write and I can do my makeup and make art. I miss a childhood I never had, where just for a moment nothing would hurt and I would not wonder whether I was normal

Somehow they've become my favourite body part in recent times. It's one part of my body that I can see is aging and I really like how it's going. They are strong and flexible and I have nice healthy nails. I have three calloused fingertips from playing the guitar and I keep my nails quite short and unpainted and I let them grow longer when I'm taking a break from instruments. I think you can tell that I play keys (although really I think that's from typing)

I’ll use my hand to slosh water where I want it or froth up the soap suds, or my nails to scrape at something stuck-on. It always feels like a hack, something I’d forgotten I could do. it reminds me of what perfect tools my hands are.

Feel the movement as you chop veggies, tie your laces, turn the pages of a book, craft your heart out, and paint a narrative while you speak.

how gentle of us to make a wish on a star or an eyelash or a dandelion - what a beautiful way to dream so big and so casually. it’s free, you’re free!

I loved being 19, it felt like the age I was supposed to be. I miss 19, I can’t wait to see what other years will feel like being 19 when I get older. Aging used to scare me a lot more, now I’ve realized the world is kinder to me as I’ve grown up, and I’ve grown kinder to myself too. I hope to smile enough that one day it’ll never leave my face again.
