Watching a bit of a film
This will sound sacrilegious, and of course the best way to watch a great film is to have the time to enjoy and savour it, lights out, no phone, like the cinema. BUT I realised I was often watching shitty TV shows because I just wanted to watch something for half an hour. But you can literally just watch half an hour of a film and then watch another half hour another time. Plus if you get sucked into the screen you only watch a 2 hour film rather than being stuck watching like 5 hours of a random show.

Personally I think a one-sitting watch is necessary for a proper experience with a film… BUT! I also think you can split something up as long as you’re intentional with it and are watching it actively enough to be close to that full experience!

I do this alot intentionally. I'm really bad at watching movies on my own, so I end up watching half of one and watching the rest later. This is kinda valid!

90 minute movies
it’s the perfect length for me to watch after work , i can start a movie at 11 or even 12 & get to bed at the (mostly) reasonable hour of 1:30 at the latest . sometimes i will extend this to 100 or 110 min if i‘m feeling indulgent or ambitious . i could watch an hour of tv but this gives me a whole story in only a little bit more time .

Films on your ipad or laptop 💻
I know David Lynch disagree but hear me out, watching the film without distraction but standing the whole time and going all over the place, some of it outside and some of it in the kitchen, a few in the room and a bit in the bathroom. It’s a fun way to stand for 2 hours, we’re setting way too much any way! Honestly this is bullshit my cat just broke my TV im tryna find my peace with it 😔

Being decisive when picking a movie with a friend
So tired of sitting on the sofa with someone, flicking around the streaming services going back and forth on what to watch. For the first time in ages me and my friend just picked something that looked good and watched it. We need to stop trying to optimise the enjoyment of every moment of of our lives because we end up spending ages doing nothing. PS. Tangerine is a good film, you should watch it.
