1984 spooky valley girl zombie masterpiece. You think it’s gonna be about Reggie and her hair, but it’s really about her sister Samantha and her outfits.
If I taught a film class, I’d show this movie as a perfect (perfectly imperfect?) example of how to create on a budget. The sky effects, how everyone disappears (not a spoiler) - never seen anything like it but you know it had to be CHEAP.

This week’s mystery movie theme was horror, and lo and behold it was A24’s BRING HER BACK!!
So fucking good. A satanist acid trip with body horror that is still sticking with me 3 days later. AND the tickets were only 5 dollars.
There are very few reasonably priced surprises in this world and I am so grateful that I discovered this one.

I recommend dolls (1987) because it’s like a an episode of are you afraid of the dark? or probably goosebumps but much more scarier with a vibe so creepy and cute, it’s literally the most perfect and precious piece of horror media ever and it hurts me so much knowing that it’s still not as famous as other scary doll movies. I love it so much I recommendz
