there’s a story behind every scar, and that’s awesome sad, funny, forgotten, they’re still a record of the life you lived and you’re still around to show proof of your past and that you have made it so far i have a scar on my knee from running away from a kangaroo, i then tripped and fell on gravel and i was so scared lol i most likely would have forgotten that memory, but the scar is still there to remind me about how young i was when it happened

hear me out on this one - i got a bit lost on a walk recently and ended up getting caught in a rosebush, and later that day ended up skinning my knee in a race against some friends because i was going downhill way too fast (i won so all is fair in love and war i guess) and just. something about getting childish minor injuries like scraped knees and bruises and scratches from little misadventures makes me feel so nostalgic? i feel like a five year old girl climbing trees and falling out of them again. i kind of miss it.

i tend to forget my body not in a neglectful way but in a running purely on autopilot way. but remembered that the skin around my fingers peels as seasons change and how it feels when you lie down after a long day and all your weight just sinks into the mattress. got a scrape on my knee after cycling for the first time in months. ran my fingers on my arms just to feel the hairs there. made lunch because i wanted to nourish my body and not because i should be eating a certain number of meals a day. idk, we‘ve been bestowed these physical forms to use on earth and as fun as it can be to envision ourselves as just Ideas or Characters™️, let’s not forget our bodies and the beauty they hold!!

over the past year i started collecting little things from days out with my friends or family or whatever. my room is COVERED in different receipts, packaging from stuff i've bought, postcards, birthday cards, and not just paper stuff, also things like rocks or little toys we've found or an empty bottle of jack daniels from my birthday last year which i mixed with kopparberg (don't ask me why because i don't know :') ) it's all on display in my room and i love my room for that. i'm surrounded by fond memories with those i love even if i can't exactly remember what some silly label was from or something, i know it's from something i enjoyed enough to stick it on my corkboard or something.
