Talking to strangers

Story time! Today I went to my one of my favorite coffee shops in Brooklyn. It was a bit packed so I took a seat next to a guy who sparked a conversation with me. We spent the next hour talking and then even went to Beacon’s Closet together. He was visiting from the UK, so I was giving him some of my recs and helping him find a leather jacket. Anyway, Andrew from Yorkshire, thanks for making my day!

when ur in a cafe and a stranger walks in and then it turns out theyre meeting another stranger who has been there for a little while

learning the lore of the patrons. its like "omg! you know my friend"

look at people when walking

obviously not in a creepy way but once you start doing this you’ll actually recognize the same people if you’re in a walking neighborhood and it starts to really feel like a village! Love recognizing an old coworker, your local tailor, or just nodding at your barista on the street :)
