My first gig of the year coming back to London was a Manchester band by the name of Nightbus: a gothic trio following the cities roots in the scene, even closing their set with a cover of Joy Division’s ‘Shadowplay.’
Nightbus mix their goth styles with industrial break beats and looming vocals, creating an intensive atmosphere that translates seamlessly live, replacing drum machines with a DDJ Flx-4 for a bit of a modern twist.
With an album on the way, Nightbus is a group worth checking out, both online and on-stage.

The new synthwave stuff has really gripped me lately. I listen to The Midnight & Dreamkid a bit more than Gunship, but it was finding them a couple of years ago that, pun intended, launched me down this path.
I've enjoyed chiptune and other odd non-dance (you can still dance if you wanna, I won't judge) electronica for decades now. But this throwback / modern take on early 80s music gets me.

A.G’s record is his best to date, but lengthy. Had he cut out some of the slower cuts it would be undeniably incredible. Really great stuff all around tho.
