Bandcamp is my go-to for buying music nowadays - artists make the most money from there, and there are thousands of smaller artists there that you won't find anywhere else. Unfortunately, many large artists aren't there, so you might still need to buy from Amazon music or another online marketplace, but, it's a start!

Bandcamp and filter by your city to find good local musicians (Sadly it’s only major cities). Also just in general I find that bandcamp highlights interesting stuff on the homepage. My local college has a radio station which plays amazing variety of stuff. They often highlight local people, foreign stuff and weird/offbeat things I’d never find on my own. Use the music major nerds to ur benefit.

i feel like my music taste is becoming a bit stale and too influenced by social media, so bandcamp is here to save me

1. RYM - fun way to keep track of albums you’ve been listening to and see what your friends are listening to. 2. Last.fm for listening stats (more accurate than Spotify and Apple Music IMO, but that’s not news) but also for curated recs and leaving one-liner comments on songs/albums. 3. Bandcamp for buying music, yes, but also I’ve especially been loving their feature articles as of late. Good music writing!
