A not-particularly-coded message from the Furs' Richard Butler to the LGBTQ community -- I just love that he was doing this in 1982.
Butler is the first artist I ever interviewed (long ago) who helped me to understand that a song meant whatever I thought it meant vs. what HE thought it meant - sure, he had a specific audience and message in mind here but he explicitly gave permission to "follow where my mind goes."
I adore this band so much and don't get why they don't get more love here and everywhere. Classic without being "classic rock." ❤️
