Gerald’s Game by Stephen King — his scariest book (for me) and the ending still haunts me. 10/10, big content warnings. It by him is also really great, tis 1000 pages though. The Island by Adrian McKinty is a fabulous murder thriller that actually had my heart racing. Blood Sugar by Sascha Rothchild is not Scary per se, but really well written. The narrator is a murderer accused of a murder she didn’t commit! Kill for Love by Laura Picklesimer is not scary, but plenty of gore.

This book got me back into reading this year! Its dark, queer, very well written, and centers around the satanic panic.

started this book awhile ago and still need to finish it! abt a young lesbian whose parents are accused of and on trial for an awful crime, set during the satanic panic and picks up years later. very moody and immersive and terrifying and encapsulates the not-knowing, fear, and often absurd humor of being a young person in such an unthinkable situation

so much to talk about, the sunglasses, the scarf, the fresh baguette and coffee, the always lovely cafe setting. I think this is the most swag ever captured on camera I aspire to be at this level
