I’ve been struggling lately with a lot of personal growth & change (all mostly good), and it’s difficult not to feel down on myself for having a lower emotional fluency or level of self-image as the loved ones I see steering through similar straits. Today I am choosing to be proud of sticking to the work, and tomorrow might be different. But today, I’m proud :)
trying is the bravest thing you can do! no matter where you are in your journey, you’re doing your best and that’s always something to be proud of. i’m proud of you too!
I just wanna be appreciated and seen for what im doing such a good effort at. I will appreciate myself. I am self aware. I am very brave and I am strong and I am trying rlly hard. i am moving towards pain and fear in order to grow.
I've had catastrophically low self confidence for my whole life, but today someone asked me if I knew how to draw, and whether I could draw something for a project we're working on. I thought for a beat and realised that I am in fact quite good at drawing and could answer the question without undermining myself. Felt very powerful. Later on in the day I had a massive tank in self confidence because I realised I'd fucked something up and need to redo a bunch of work but hopefully thinking about this will bring the spirit back.
going out is expensive and afternoons & evenings can be busy, invite someone over to your place before noon and make a pot of coffee — enjoy company for company’s sake 🥂
