I long for when phones were only used for texting/calling. We need to bring back phones where you can’t play videos or even see pictures like. Personally we as a society need to go back to old technology. These smart phones are killing us slowly and we are enjoying it unfortunately.

I 100% agree- for me making the switch to a burner phone and abandoning my iPhone was honestly the best move I have ever made in my life and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone. Have you read Walden by Henry David Thoreau? It is very interesting and it is what started me on my luddite journey. Hopefully one day more people will see the light.

We should bring back flip phones
Back to basics if you need a detox, strictly limited to calls and texts. Way more durable, easier to fit in your pocket. Much more aesthetically pleasing and cool than iphone or android. Should be at the forefront the same way vinyls are back on the menu.

i don't think we'll ever go back
i miss weird phones as much as anybody but honestly i think phones are too much of a solved technology at this point. the touchscreen was the best thing to happen to software and the worst thing to happen to hardware. it also doesn't help that there are fewer manufacturers now and they have more of an incentive than ever to keep making more boring, more expensive designs with higher margins. at least some of the new folding/bending ones are sort of cool but there's only so far they can go.

archaic technology
Over the last six or so months I have fully embraced the world of pre-digital technology. I communicate with friends and family over the world mainly via letters I type out on my Silver-Reed SR 180 DeLuxe and I currently yearn for a rotary phone. In the Information Age, there is something so intrinsically charming about using the innovations of yesterday that now mostly lie by the wayside. I am sure that in many ways my love of the analogue world is predominantly superficial but I think that is OK.

Talk to random strangers
Going for a little walk and maybe meet some people on the way to a cafe try to initiate small talk even if you feel like they’re gonna be a bore, most of the time you’ll actually enjoy it. Just talking in general it’s actually so fun to just talk to people.

I love Halloween, in fact it should be celebrated all year round. It’s so fun! you get to have an excuse to dress up as you favorite characters. Halloween parties are everything, bonus points if it’s a house party. It’s something so serious to me i will never be old for Halloween I don’t care I’ll be in my 80’s and would still dress up for Halloween. Dont even joke about the costumes lad!

Day 2 of being on this app and it feels refreshing. Real people asking real questions responding with genuine answers and the most awesome part no ai like wow. I could just delete all other social media apps and be here.
