ok this is not super helpful for your actual question but notion has never worked for me for note taking. eventually i stopped using it just because i feel like the structure does NOT work for good flowy note-taking, instead i just use it to vision board and plan projects what i do love is obsidian - it uses links and backlinks to connect related concepts, and shows them all to you in a graph. it takes a little bit to get a hang of (about a week) but it's really powerful and completely local (all of your notes are saved as markdown files), which also means you can edit and view your notes offline but they're still really easy to share if you want them on your phone and computer. love love love it if you're taking notes online! if you don't like obsidian i'm a big fan of remnote too! remnote saves to the cloud if you also want your notes to be on your other devices, but it lets you make quizlet flashcards/fill in the blank practice problems as you write and you can highlight/bold text using the same keyboard shortcuts as notion ok i did not answer your question at all! hopefully someone has more helpful notion tips

the best app for sundry notetaking. meta as i’m typing this on notion and as perfectly imperfect seems to format with it, but i was forcing myself into proficiency or daily use with evernote or the notes app and they never really stuck. then notion showed up and it all clicked. i use it for journaling, reading lists, sketch ideas for work, and therapy notes, which leads me to…

Somebody has probably already recd this before but I will not stop going on about notion. I am a very forgetful person, and it’s important for me to write stuff down or it will be GONE from my brain. Notion is the most customisable organisation tool you will have. If you would prefer something a bit more pre-structured I wouldn’t totally recommend it , BUT.. there are hundreds of templates out there that other users have created. I found it quite overwhelming at first starting with a blank page, so I used the template below to start, then customised it to my liking. I use notion most for note taking at uni, but you can practically use it for anything you can think of. (I also use it to save my fav baking recipes and also a budget tracker XD) You can get it on both desktop and phone as well and have everything synced up which is nice too. The only thing that it a bit annoying is that there is no auto spell check.. but pros outweigh the cons for me.
