I haven’t even had the time to procrastinate recently. Today was full of it. Usually it’s a bad thing, but I’ve done it my whole life so there’s a familiar coziness about it.

Running away from your responsibilities //

procrastination is a thing that i’ve always done, and recently its showing its face again in my life in a very real way. but there is something i’ll always love about the built-up stress of a million things i have to do and the release of figuring it all out right before the deadline
unless i don’t make it in time….

lean into the procrastination or do it out of spite

give your body/brain the time it needs, the writing will flow back to you when its ready (maybe try another silly creative outlet that you can fuck around with and avoid trying to perfect it, ease the creativity back into your brain) OR remember that some of your opps are probably pushing thru the procrastination (this works most times for me... i will finish all my work asap)

TRY ASKING YOUR FRIENDS FOR WHAT YOU’RE MISSING INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING YOU DONT HAVE “COMMUNITY”

a big pet peeve I have is people complaining about not having community or only having “party friends” etc BUT are they inviting their existing friends or acquaintances to go out for dinner, go thrifting, watch tv, book club, people watch, day trip, mulberry picking? no, they are not. are they introducing their friends to each other? also not. i hate to be a cliché sometimes you gotta put some work into having the relationships you long for. plus: you’re part of the problem. AND have some appreciation for the friends you have instead of focusing so much in what you don’t.

being enthusiastic

Nothing annoys me more about the American culture than the lack of enthusiasm. If I invite you to go somewhere and your answer is “sure” or “why not”, I’m taking it back. I do not wanna be surrounded by indifferent people. It’s unworthy.
