I’ll be honest, I have the same attention span as that squirrel from Over the Hedge. So if I need an easy background show my first choice is always Big Brother. I fucking love this show, and the classic seasons are some of the best. However, if you’re only looking for the parts that matter they’re whole playlist on Youtube dedicated to hours of the footage you need to catch up on the Big Brother lore. It goes deep too, some of these winners are like warriors in mythology with how legendary they are. Don’t wanna spoil anything though.

I’ve been watching Big Brother since I was 9 years old. You watch 15 to 20 people enter a house together, choose the head of household, who then puts two people on the block, and you watch as people lie and scheme and align themselves with others until one person ends up winning half a million dollars at the end. There’s no television show I want to be on more. There are Survivor girls, there are Amazing Race girls, but then there’s Big Brother girls, and we’re just built different. I’ve gotten a lot of people addicted to this. It is buckets and buckets of fun. I would start with season 3. The latest season is really really good.

This is likely due to an inflated ego on my part tbh, but I just really think I could do so well on that show. It’s all manipulation and lying and scheming and good times and socializing and it just seems like an overall fun way to spend the summer.

So, it has come to my attention that Survivor, the island survival reality tv show, is IN right now. Which is fascinating to me, because I grew up watching Survivor with my mom. She has seen every single episode over the course of the show's 20+ years. I watched maybe 10ish years of them with her. This show is great for some reason, always has been. Go ahead, watch a season or two. I associate this Heroes vs. Villains season with the most carefree part of my childhood.

If you have a Nintendo Online Membership. Run to the app store right now. Nintendo has released their own Spotify, and thank fucking god. Do you know how terrible it is to stream low quality rips from YouTube? The fact that this is the first time Nintendo is releasing their own recorded music (and at this high quality) is something I’d never thought I’d ever see with my own eyes. But if they were, of course it would be through a paid streaming service. I can only dream of owning a record of the Wii Sports Resort album :( Also not everything is on there yet, but enough to suffice. So if you’re awaiting songs from Donkey Kong Country Jungle Beat, join the crowd. You can at least listen to the Bath theme from Nintendogs and put it on an hour loop, like me!

I‘ve been struggling to pick-up books lately. Not for any particular reason, maybe besides motivation. However, when I’m on a walk and I see these little libraries in front of peoples‘ houses I’m hooked. They’re like mailboxes but for everyone! I’m currently reading Zeitoun by Dave Eggers. Which is about a family and their struggle through Hurricane Katarina. It’s a great read, and these little libraries are probably chock-full of way more just like it. They should the same for movies or video games. Can you imagine being on a walk and opening up a box with Madden ‘07 for the Gamecube? I can only dream.

I was an avid member of our local pool club. It smelled, the food was trash, my stomach was in pain more times then not, but it was paradise. I faced my fears in the deep end. I even still have friends in my life that I only had known from being at the pool club. Days at the pool club were days I’ll never forget.
