I recently watched From and no show or movie has terrifed me the way this show did. Like i dont know how to explain it but there is this absorbing type of element in it, obviously there is the mystery aspect and despite not understanding what is going on in the show, it doesn't stop you from not wanting to watch it. And with analog horror its definitely adult swim bumps and short films. No jumpscares but they're scary.

ok ngl I am NOT an analog horror girly, like the jumpscare aspect plus unreality of it all kinda gets me. however! I do love hearing ppl explain the lore for analog horror projects and seeing the love put into them :) like i haven't seen the entirety of the local 58 webseries but this one video i willingly watched and it is SO good and haunting I used it as a source for a essay in my college's freshman year conspiracy theories class in regards to the "watching ppl explain analog horror" i would reccomend watching either the og monument mythos webseries analog horror projects OR wendigoon's explanation of it, bc mm is SO eerie and wacky and kinda funny at times and just a very well done piece of media. also if u want a more mainstream answer i would reccomend the movie the fly (1986)

considered the first soviet-era horror film, a monk is called upon to preside over the final vigil of a young witch in a remote village, where he must spend three nights alone in the church with her coffin. the practical effects are so cool and ambitious. the whole movie is so pretty to look at, from the scenery to the architecture to the supernatural stuff. the story itself is based on an earlier novella, it’s very interesting and folky. i just love old horror like this :)

i decided to spend my birthday last year in patagonia because i wanted to go on an adventure and see beautiful things. the initial plan was to go to antarctica but that didn’t work out so i decided to go to as close to the end of the world as i could. it’s really one of those trips that make you believe in the glorious mysteries of life. exploring the wilderness while listening to black marble’s ‘it’s immaterial’ was wonderful.
