A haunting and beautiful folk song that is possibly based on a Bahamian melody (though the Wikipedia page says there's no documentation on where it came from). I've linked my favorite version, which is a home recording of Nick Drake with his sister. The song is so good that I will sometimes put on this Spotify playlist with ten versions, including a kind of weak and goofy live Paul McCartney one.
