Fun fact I took four years of Japanese in high school up to the AP level not in a weeaboo way 💅 I prefer Bunpo to Duolingo for refreshing and maintaining proficiency. Apparently they also have Spanish, Korean, French, German, and Chinese!
I’m bad at learning western languages I think it’s remembering the gender of random objects like oh ok apples are boys. English doesn’t have that. Japanese doesn’t have that. And as an English speaker it’s kind of fun to do the puzzle of where what words go where. Maybe try Japanese it’s not the most practicable but that’s a boring way to choose
Even if you aren't gonna be fluent it's fun to explore other languages. Just signed up for an "intro to Korean" seminar and honestly? Who cares if I can only introduce myself, I'm doing it to have fun and mastering the hobby isn't a requirement for enjoyment.
or literally any language learning app or method. maybe it’s the academic nerd in me but there’s nothing more rewarding than learning. like i Love learning new languages 🤓 so go off and get connected to others though language, au revoir and sayonara! (p.s. you should totally add me on duolingo so we can do friend quests @ babiemetal) … now realized I should’ve claimed that username on here
My dad teases me about how when I was a little kid, my favorite thing to do when I was on the landline phone with somebody—be it a relative or one of my best friends—was to breathlessly describe the things that were in my bedroom so that they could have a mental picture of everything I loved and chose to surround myself with, and where I sat at that moment in time. Perfectly Imperfect reminds me of that so thanks for always listening and for sharing with me too 💌
