yes I also saw it in passing on twitter, and I’m already checking this place more instead of twitter. Even if this place isn’t as busy as twitter, it brings calm with it. feels more like a community, especially one where people don’t hate each other. ik lots of people went to blue sky but I didn’t want to just go to what would become another twitter, so I love how unique this site is. kinda reminds me of old forum pages.
and the cool thing about this site is that people can recommend cool stuff to help you find what you want your personality to be :) if we’re open to it, then we’re all discovering new things constantly, which is a human experience I adore

sniffle aw you really hit the nail on the whole bluesky thing :( i know the block/mute features work way better over that platform, and you can curate your space way better but it still feels like a closed off bubble... i think what's truly charming about forums (and PI) is that people are actually encourage to say hi, even to strangers, and maybe say a nice few things to them. it's simple stuff like that that makes me so happy to be here!! we share what we love, and we try to take a little piece of that stranger's loves with us. it's super cute and charming!!

And yeah I like how it’s not just echo chambers here because you’re exposed to things you might not even be interested in, but that makes it refreshing for me and also stops me from scrolling too much, keeping it to a more healthy amount. Instead of an algorithm trying to smother me with all my interests constantly to keep me on.

dfeola316 omg yeah it does doesn't it?? the twitter bot problem is soo insane, and it's always so sad to want to engage with other people only for the replies to a post being swamped with the same generated comment looking to make a dumb profit :( and it isn't me being "technology bad!!" i'm just saying social media used to be soo fun. y'know. when it was all real vibes and people!! it's refreshing being here cuz of it :)
