I work as a store greeter for a very popular department store here in Australia (one that used to have a US presence but is notably now dead there)
I get it. It's boring. It's tiring! It can be shockingly stressful!
You will meet bad, annoying, unreasonable, weird, and generally unsavoury people.
I just got off a day of casual retail work and I know by the end of the week I'll be making pennies compared to what I made at my previous part-time job (which I quit because I was having a bad time but that's a story for another day).
But when you form even the slightest bit of connection with people? Have a pleasant conversation about something mundane? Tell them you like their graphic tee? I love it! It's cool! Having a laugh with folks, exchanging smiles, getting to see how different people really are up close and personal... There's something about it I truly love.
Maybe I'm sipping the corporate Kool-Aid, maybe not. But I just love to talk to people.

sometimes it can be draining when youโre just not feeling it at work, but most of the time I fuck with it. They always seem to be in a good mood for no reason at all and that sounds like a cool life to me. Always trying to find the bright side.

Because apparently itโs possible to have one that doesnโt regularly make you cry! Getting a job you enjoy is SO in (even if you find your central purpose & enjoyment of life outside of your employment)

As the title suggests, Kanye was always one of my problematic faves but I think he's kinda became annoyingly problematic and comically evil to the point that he's lost me. I still listen to his old stuff though. I often don't realise how much I listen to it still until I see my last.fm stats.
It's kind of undeniable that he's been one of the most influential people in hip-hop and wider pop culture for decades now, so it hurts more that he's gone so far down the deep end.
One of these days I'll make my idea for a Kanye Broadway musical a reality. Trust me!
