It fascinates me how much people remember about their lives when they're writing autobiographies, because I remember so little.

this one made me reflect deeply on the current status of my relationship with my mother and the things we donโt discuss, the things she doesnโt know about me and may never know and vice versa.
I recently had the most enlightening conversation with my aunt (my moms only and younger sister) and it was interesting to hear her perspective on my tumultuous relationship with my mother and the parallels between our relationship and her own relationship with their mother, as a firsthand witness. the differences are vast but there are quite a bit of similarities.
this book made me feel all kinds of things from deep sadness to highly hopeful. A good balance in stories. But def a reminder in reflecting on your own relationship with your own mother whether it was good, healthy, toxic, violent, or even nonexistent. Highly recommend.

maintenance phase: aubrey gordon and michael hobbes debunk diet culture myths and dunk on bigots/liars/wellness culture moguls. i love aubrey's laugh it lights up my heart!!
if books could kill: michael hobbes and peter shamshiri tear apart airplane bookstore bestsellers. love this one as an english major bc they shit on unfounded or cherry picked research that was manipulated for the sake of profit and bias confirmation
we can do hard things: yes it is very millenial and genx coded but it reminds me of my mom in that way. i think listening to older women who have been where i am is so healing. glennon doyle and co. bring on so many beautiful guests (my faves are sonya renee taylor and tricia hersey!!). teaches me so much about love, relationships, communication, embodiment, and authenticity!!
pulling the thread: elise loehnen (whose recent book i LOVE) has conversations with authors, mystics, spiritual leaders, and academics about their theories and writing. i have learned so much about myself and the universe listening to these conversations!! very much stimulates my curiosity

This journey started when I was about 8/9 and my favourite youtuber at the time painted their room lime green. Thus, of course, my favourite colour had to be lime green.
This later evolved to mint green as I found the sharpness of lime to be quite jarring and outdated. Mint green was more "trendy".
Then one day I was scrolling through Pinterest and found these images of a bass guitar and some vinyl AM platform boots. They were the perfect shades of green, more muted and grey (which beleive make most colours look better).
I also discovered that the finish of the colour can be almost as important as the colour itself.
TLDR: grey-green with a preferably vinyl/glossy finish (like wet paint.)
