i’m about to go the first rehearsal for the play i wrote, i’m also directing for the first time. months of work have gone into this. i keep alternating between terror and elation re: sharing it with people but no matter how today goes i’m so proud of myself

Just finished up a week-long run of Shakespeare's Richard the Third and feeling so proud of everyone involved. I love acting and hope it'll become a bigger part of my life, but even with that said working on this latest production has been so inspirational. I've met and gotten to know so many fantastic people putting their all into theatre as a hobby — for a few of them this was their first time onstage and it was so fun watching them grow and shine as we neared opening night.
Personally, my role in the play as the Duchess of York wasn't a key character, but it was one I found massively challenging for a number of reasons — but once we got into live performances something clicked and I felt like with each show I learned something new about myself and the role.
I can't recommend this enough as an opportunity to meet new people, push yourself out of your comfort zone, and also guilt your friends into spending nearly three hours in a dark cramped room 😁

i've been trying to clear my schedule and hype myself up enough to start doing comedy, and the idea of doing an open mic is sooo scary so i signed up for an improv class!! i was like a wannabe theater kid in high school (auditioned and never got into the program) and i haven't performed since then, but i'm rlly excited and kind of nervous and i just wanna make new friends and start pursuing smth i've wanted to do forever:)))

use anything! newspaper and string! fabric! magazine pages! cover that in stickers or drawings or whatever ribbon u have! yesterday i put a box into a trader joe’s bag, folded the top down, and stapled a bow onto it & it looks adorable

this is a photo i took of my empty childhood bedroom—my parents are moving so this was goodbye
i deleted instagram, so now i get to rethink how i interact with photography since there’s
no end goal of posting. i ordered prints and i’m planning to collage with them, mail them to people, put them on my fridge… open to recs too!
