i relate it a lot to going to the airport. youre in a public area, its loud, lots of things are going on, possibly expensive.
also just wanted a reason to show my dog.

I don’t wish unknown sickness of your dog unto anyone, but if you have to visit the vet weekly only to leave with a general “still not sure,” at least Modern Animal offers me the perk of a free coffee/sparkling water while I panic.

I’m surprised nobody has said this one yet but I guess it’s not necessarily a random interest lol. It forces you into regular friendly interaction with people in your community, especially if you habitually take your dog to the same restaurants for outdoor dining or if you live in a large apartment building—especially if it has a dog park where you end up naturally chatting with other dog owners and seeing them over and over again. I had a lot of interesting conversations at my last apartment building while my dog Benny played with other dogs. Great way to become socialized if you’re feral

Yesterday I took a spontaneous trip to the AKC Meet the Breeds event. No one was on their phone except to take pics of the pups. Everyone was so excited to be there.
A pocket of pure joy on this earth!

call me old fashioned but ill refer to them formally regardless of their age. maybe because i grew up in the south working at chick fil a for a couple months.
