ive always had a disdain towards pop. its so corporate friendly, it feels like its trying to sell me my own soul. i thought i just didnt like music for a long time, but ive found an undying love for people who reject the commonly accepted and view music as a form of critique and self expression. i love scremo. i love a heavy guitar. i love that playing orchid over my job's intercom would piss off my boss. i love punk🫀

specific recs are early dance gavin dance albums (royal ocean through downtown battle mountain 2 except happiness) but especially downtown battle mountain 1 . also aya’s nts show mish mosh get a wash & alexisonfire’s watch out!
the two are a perfect pairing imo , but overall i guess i wouldn’t recommend 50hr work weeks

its my favorite album of all time. by the time he made in utero, he had already defined his style and really settled into his sound thru bleach and nevermind, but what makes this album the best of nirvana is his return to the punk roots that brought him to the scene to begin with.
