one small tip is to get a piece of scrap fabric and draw different shapes on it (both straight and curved) and practice sewing them until you are able to keep them steady/consistent and on the lines. it makes sewing with a pattern a lot easier! :)

tiff !! not sure if FB marketplace is a thing across the pond but if so you can find cheap (sometimes free) scrap fabric, patterns, and other supplies on there :)
