narratively the episode is pretty satisfying, but i remember watching the episode air and then having this feeling of the end of an era, the previous 8 years of my life the show had followed me through coming to a close. felt like saying goodbye to a dear friend knowing that you won't see them anymore, or at least not in the same way you used to. took a moment after it ended to just sit with all the show meant to me and appreciate it for what it was.
i know there's some extended content on HBO max now, and i've seen some of it, but the evolution of the show over its course and getting to grow up with it was an experience i'll never have again but i feel privileged for having been a part of. it was probably the last "kids" show i actively watched. the only show that came close to the same feeling was Attack on Titan for me but i wouldn't say i had the same kind of relationship to the characters and world of that show that i had with Adventure Time.
