There’s something so cool about walking through someone’s former home and navigating their possessions. You get a feel for who they were and what they valued, and a sneak peek into their own personal treasure trove. Someone’s last remaining items can have an entirely new life, and the world can have one less item in the landfill. It’s like forming your very own chosen family of heirlooms and cherished valuables!

Hadn’t been to any since I was younger but started going with one of my friends recently, found some really cool stuff and I like the idea that even though people’s families didn’t want their stuff that it can bring joy to a stranger their life never touched. I like to think about what they thought about when they picked out art for their walls, and books for their shelves, and what their favorite mug might’ve been.

when wealthy people die, their furniture is begging to be adopted by someone who cares about quality but doesn’t want to spend a bazillion dollars. also estate sales are just fascinating and heartbreaking and beautiful so you also get a fun day out of it

every time i go to an estate sale i get closer to finding god. looking through someone’s entire life and home feels wrong to some but i think its beautiful! if people we love can’t live forever, their trinkets and memories can.

You don’t need to suffer to prove that you’re a good person. You don’t have to stay with the job that makes you question yourself and you don’t have to keep dating that person you’re not quite clicking with. If something feels off then it probably is. I’m not advocating for immediately abandoning your responsibilities and throwing caution to the wind; but in our hearts we know when something is working and when it isn’t. That thing called intuition is your soul, and you can trust it.

There’s just something really energizing knowing that me, Megan Fox, and the Late Elizabeth II share something moderately specific. 🌞Taurus 🌜Leo ✨Capricorn

I’m tired of jumping through hoops and reframing my mounting dread everyday as ‘an opportunity to make a change‘. I’m tired of thinking that only if I tried harder, or was better or did something different that I would have a better outcome. At what point do you stop trying to jam the same puzzle piece in the same spot and say, “Hmm maybe this doesn’t fit!” Am I quitting trying to be an ever optimizing and improving version of myself? Maybe. OR have I successfully gotten what I wanted out of this experience and can peacefully move on without remorse? I think in 2025 I’m going to start choosing the latter.
