brother reading in spanish is so hard/funny because as a low attention span brain when i read books i literally ZOOM through pages cause im like blah blah blah i understand all of this where’s the drama it is what it is. but OH MY GOD i am reading 1984 in spanish to better my vocabulary cause my spanish is just street speak. I started this book last week and im on page 5 🧍🏽‍♀️ like do you know what unusual in spanish is. Its insólita which is so crazy i feel like ive never heard that word EVER
anyway come with me on my journey of learning to read spanish better and developing better vocabulary :P

FELT. I think it’s especially hard if you’re Latin American cuz a lot of books translated into Spanish are translated in castellano, and my Mexican ass simply can’t comprehend that 😭. Like what the heck is insólita, I know it as inusual.

mi primer idioma

es el español, y aquí se siente raro pensar en español y leer todo en inglés.
ahora ya todo está en ingles, quisiera poder leer más cosas en español que no me causen asco.
todo lo que ves en español si no es súper crudo, sientes el dinero detrás de la información.
es raro poder expresarse de esta manera, que me da a mí por mi generación vibras de tumblr. me gustaba escribir mucho en tumblr.
todos se han burlado de mí por escribir y ese precisamente es el problema, nadie le pone corazón a nada en español “suena mejor en inglés “
es un pensamiento que tengo tan internalizado que al para ir ver lo que pasa, me da asco.
no sé, son muchos pensamientos y no puedo ponerle un orden, quisiera poder amar y abrazar mi idioma como parte de mi también.
que feo que las personas se refieran a ti idioma como “idioma de pobres”

specifically the fact I can’t speak or comprehend my family bc Puerto Ricans and dominicans speak so fast….. I get on my zoom (busuu language learning I love u) everyday but I fear I need to immerse myself in a country to pick this skill up
