I think the best way to describe it is an absence of features that you would typically see in a period drama that align with the beauty standards of a given time. The ubiquity of cosmetic procedures is definitely part of it too because it has a tendency to make people look more interchangeable instead of unique, and the blatant tells of having had work done to their face would take you out of a film set in a certain era because it would be immediately noticeable. The artificiality and homogeneity negates the sense of timeless beauty ๐Ÿ—ฟ

i recommend incorporating something a little bit unflattering into your look whether it be the fit/cut of a garment or an ugly shoe or something similar, for me its recently become bleaching my eyebrows, i do not have a good face for this at all (and i paint them in to look more "natural" for work) but i really like the intensity of the look. i feel like wearing something a little unflattering communicates like aesthetic agency or something and its subtly subversive... i hope that makes sense

Was going through instagram stories for the first time in months. Nothing wrong with using social media in the right way or really however you want to. I just really donโ€™t miss it when I avoid it and when I go back I like it less and less. PI feels like an exception- itโ€™s a much purer form. Not trying to kiss ASS here, but it kinda just feels like old twitter which was a happy place in the timeline of social mediaโ€ฆ
