I launched a newsletter in 2024. I managed to keep the schedule, put out some decent pieces and get a small but legitimate readership going. Writing the year end post felt really, really good.

Back in like 2014, the internet ran on blogs, so I wrote a couple on and off for years for shits and giggles, not really expecting anything serious to come out of it. Now I write a newsletter and occasional magazine articles which helped me meet so many cool people whose work and life I admire and become friends with fellow accidental (and professional) writers!

I've been working on a fantasy novel for months on end. I've completed multiple drafts and want to one day get the project published. As an early form of marketing and connecting with people interested in the book, I'm starting a newsletter releasing its first issue tomorrow! It's so crazy sitting down and writing something about my passion project that I know people will read. If you have something you're working on and want to connect with friends and family, I highly recommend a newsletter! Also, on the off chance anyone here is interested, there's a sign up link attached to this rec :)

This is a cookbook with no recipes that will teach you how to cook everything. It covers everything there is to know about food -- from how it was discovered, how man changed it, how it is grown, how it is harvested and how to prepare and cook it. It dramatically changed my cooking life.

Most golden ages are not obvious at the time. I lucked out being in high school in a moment where grunge matured, hip hop got amazing and edm started to rise. Smells Like Teen Spirit exploded freshman year. The grunge wave got east soon after that. On the other end of the parking lot Wu Tang was played again and again as Biggie and Tupac battled. And the skaters were shifting from punk rock to this new vibe they heard at warehouse raves as techno was escaping from the lab in Dallas and NYC. The movie Kids catches this time really well. Words don’t quite do it justice.
