something about the tight shots and the environment made me feel calm. The way they were able to make a very surface level story line feel so deep is something i didn't expect also i particularly liked those little conversations they have.
Follows the lives of high school girls in Brooklyn over three years and their intimate struggles among their friends and family - becoming independent, deciding on colleges, & navigating NYC. I remember there were details about the girls’ lives that I never saw shown in movies about teenagers before. The documentary captures their desires to find their purpose and transition from childhood to adulthood in such beautiful shots & honest conversations.
my profound attachment to this movie is probably something i should unpack with a therapist... nonetheless, it is absolutely nasty, creepy, and reminiscent of all the aspects of girlhood i struggled with the most. u should definitely check it out :)
great movie about two girls who walk their own path, love the cinematography, the surrealist vibe, the humour and oldschool special effects. bonus points for being a playful feminist movie that makes fun of bourgeoisie men hihi
