pomegranates are delicious. i like to eat them straight out of a bowl with a spoon, but they are also great in yogurt, on ice cream, or as a sweet addition to a cheese plate. and thats fine enough—but more than that, the act of preparing a pomegranate is slow and messy. it requires patience and focus. you must put down your phone and concentrate on completing a single task. its meditative! and at the end, a beautiful bowl of tasty pomegranate seeds awaits you. there should be a pomegranate emoji.

I feel the same way about grapefruit. I like taking apart all the juicy pods into one bowl, eating it with sugar. The act itself is so meditative, taking the 10ish minutes to take it apart forces me to be completely in the present. A practice in patience. I treasure every bite so much more because of it.

taking out the seeds is almost as great as eating them after. fuck that spoon method or shaking method or whatever tool, I wanna pick every single one out with my fingers! They make the perfect sound when they hit a bowl of water

I always forget how much I enjoy them till I randomly buy one, obsessively eat them for a few weeks then forget about them for again for a few months 😂

My favourite fruit. Incredible taste and texture and you gotta do all this work to free the gem-like seeds.

i am never more proud of myself then when i cut a pomegranate and don’t stain my island! pro tip: cut it into four and then fill a bowl with water and remove the seeds under water. changed my life truly. makes me feel like a real person!

its so fun to look over and see what other people are doing on their phones. are they playing a weird game? scrolling through their own camera roll? watching instagram stories? look at the faces of the people on their instagram feed. do you know any of them? i might even read a text message that someone is sending as they type it out. its way more interesting than looking at my own phone.

when a movie is over, sit through to the end of the credits. everyone is so quick to stand up when a movie finishes. just sit! you don’t have to read them—you can just use the time to think back on what you liked about the movie, what was exciting, talk to your friends about what they liked. you can scan the credits for that one actor’s name that you couldn’t place. you already set aside 2+ hours to watch a movie. sit and contemplate for an additional 8 minutes and then get up and go back to the rest of your life!
