this is a boring one but the mobile passport control app has saved me a few hours in line when arriving back in the states. You fill out all the info for you and anybody you’re traveling with beforehand and once your plane lands, you provide a picture of yourself and I assume it confirms your location. Often, but not always, there is a separate line for mobile passport control that is so much quicker because you’ve already filled out your customs form on the app and a lot of people don’t necessarily know that this is an option. Hope this is helpful.

It’s like international TSA precheck (includes domestic), ~$100 for 5 years. You might need to do a quick in-person interview but I thought it was worth it.

First time flying alone at 18 years old. I had just been dropped off and was dozing off in the TSA line. I was wearing jorts and I had forgotten a bobby pin in the pocket. Cut to me getting a genital patdown in front of everyone in the entire airport. Felt like that John Mulaney bit where he just leans over for a colonoscopy because he's trying to get prescription xanax
